Transaction Details in a Journal Entry Report

Hello,

Is is possible to create a journal entry item report which also has the details of the transactions included in it.

For e.g. If JE-00000870 has 3 invoices. We want to a report would show the details of the 3 invoices included in this entry. Basically its the data present in the excel sheet that you can download with each journal entry.

Journal Entry and Run Numbers (group by this),

Transaction Type (e.g Invoice item, payment item), Transaction Number Credit Accounting code and amount, Debit accounting code and amount.

Since we move Zuora journal entires to a different accounting system, a report like this will help us a lot when we reconcilliate Zuora journal entries with our other accounting system.

Thanks,

Anand

Re: Transaction Details in a Journal Entry Report

Hi Anand - each of our transaction-related data sources (e.g., Invoice Item, Invoice Item Adjustment, Invoice Payment, Credit Balance Adjustment, Refund Invoice Payment, etc) is linked to the Journal Entries that were generated by those transactions. Each of those transactions should have the amount and be associated with the related accounting codes. Aside from the issue of having to pull more than one report, how close does that get you?

Re: Transaction Details in a Journal Entry Report

Hi Chris,

Yes, that helps. But the transaction related data source like invoice item are not linked to the journal entry item, so its not easy to know the debit/credit impact of each invoice on the accounting codes as we cannot group by 'Journal Entry Item:Type'. Also as you mentioned we would need to create multiple reports and merge them. It would be good if we can just run the journal entry report and be able to view all the transactions included in each journal entry.

Thanks,

Anand
