Workflow

Available now as a Zuora Central platform service for the Spring ‘18 Launch

Work inefficiencies can cost companies a lot of money. How much money? Companies lose 20 to 30 percent in revenue every year due to inefficiencies. Some inefficiencies like organizational bottlenecks may be difficult to fix immediately, but redundant, manual tasks are low-hanging fruit that your company can automate to drive up more revenue.

“Time is still money. That’s because there are only so many minutes in a day. And, if that day includes lots of repeated functions that could be automated but are not, the result is more loads that could have been dispatched, more revenue that could have been earned, or — at the very least — missed opportunities.” – Tom Heine, CEO of Aljex Software

Whether these “repeated functions” include manually printing out an invoice whenever there’s an upcoming payment due or canceling a subscription when a customer forgets to pay, these tasks can all be automated to save time and money. We at Zuora feel your pain, which is why we’re bringing workflow automation into the Zuora Central Platform as a platform service for all of our customers.

Designed from the ground up specifically for business users, workflow automation allows any Zuora admin or business user to edit and deploy business processes natively in Zuora. No coding is needed – it’s all done with an easy to use drag-and-drop builder. This allows you to save time and money by eliminating manual processes and the need to build a custom solution for complex processes such as collections.

Common Use Cases include:

  • Automatically add or remove a product from an existing subscription
  • Automatically transfer credit balances to invoices
  • Automatically print an invoice through Google Cloud Print
  • Automatically cancel subscriptions based on failed payments
  • Automatically write-off unpaid invoices for canceled or delinquent accounts
  • Automatically email a customer when there’s a late fee
  • And much more!

Automate order-to-cash processes to cut work inefficiencies with workflow automation today, now available as a purchasable Zuora Central platform service. For more information,  contact our sales team or your Customer Success Manager.

Re: Workflow

There is an additional cost to use Workflow I believe.  @Lana can you provide any specifics?

Re: Workflow

I've been playing with workflows for the past couple of days. I can see it's really powerful and I've already created endpoints in workflow I can call from other systems to allow us to automate things inside of zuora. It's great so far.

Where can I get some more documentation on some of the workflow options? I'm trying to setup workflows to identify specific accounts, create invoices, post them, and then do other things based on conditional logic and for some reason the workflow doesn't expose some of the object properties I need to do conditional checks against.

Any resources you could point me to that would help me create some more advanced workflows would be fantastic. Thanks.

Re: Workflow

Thanks @MaggieL!

I've added a link to the sales team who can provide more info.  Your customer success manager should also have more info as well.

Re: Workflow

@MaggieL There are fees. We measure activity based on the number of workflow task you consume in a month. If you know your use cases we can help estimate and get your account rep the data needed to quote a price

@jasong What object properties are you missing?

Re: Workflow

Thanks.  I don't have a particular use case as I don't fully know its capabilities.  I see it as another tool in the toolbox.  You guys should think about opening it up in sandboxes for experimentation so admins and devs can see what it is capable of. And then if we find a fit we could work with Z about putting it into production and calculating estimated cost.

Re: Workflow

@MaggieL we do offer trials in sandbox. If you would like one I can have it turned on.

Re: Workflow

Hi,

we are currently working a lot with this workflow app and are overall very happy.

Maybe you can help us find a solution on following topic:

We have a custom date field on accounts. We are now trying to remove the date and leave the field blank as a result of the workflow. But we are not able to make an update on the field to leave it blank.

We already tried to leave the input blank or set 'blank' or 'nil' and so on. We are running out of solutions here with our liquid skills.

Maybe you can help us?

Thanks in advance.
