FirstData Payeezy payments stuck in processing

Problem:

 

Create payment records via the SOAP API create() call with 50 payment objects per call. When executing two concurrent calls with "FirstData Payeezy" gateway, we can see a large volume of the created records staying in the processing status with the error message: "Payment is on hold because proper confirmation was not received from the gateway. Please contact Zuora Support for next steps."

Root cause:

 

FirstData Payeezy does not support multiple threads on concurrency in their API. The rate limit is 5 transactions per second in their test and production environment.
