[RESOLVED] SOAP API call for Product Category shows DefaultCatalog

Known Issue: SOAP API calling category field of Product object is not exposed correctly. Currently it only shows up as DefaultCatalog regardless of actual value.

Reference Number: SUB-4149 

Status: Fixed in R197

 

  • WSDL 75+ will return the appropriate category. If the value is null, it will not return the Category field at all. 
  • WSDL 74 or before will return "DefaultCatelog"

We are planning to fix this issue in R197.

 

At this stage, the targeted release dates for R197 are 17th Feb 2016 into Sandbox environments and 24th Feb 2016.

@ecaravatti, let me check on this for you. In the meantime, can you let me know which WSDL you are using so I can do some testing on my side?

@ecaravatti -- so I did some testing and I'm seeing "DefaultCatalog" get returned for WSDL 63 as well.

 

I went to check in with some of the engineering team and the fix is dependent on the WSDL version.

 

  • WSDL 75+ will return the appropriate category. If the value is null, it will not return the Category field at all. 
  • WSDL 74 or before will return "DefaultCatelog"

 

Given this new information, I will update the original post with this note for clarification. Thanks!
