Deactivated Product at Renewal

I have tested what happens if I renew an account after expiring a product in the product catalog. I found that I am no longer able to add the Product to NEW accounts but RENEWALS will still carry the deactivated product.

Is this the expected behavior and are there any other caveats to this? Is there a way to switch the product if it is deactivated?

Re: Deactivated Product at Renewal

Yes this is the expected behavior because when you add a Product to a subscription, it becomes it's own Subscription Rate Plan Charge object, independent of the original product so it no longer governed by the expiration.

You would need to update the subscription by removing the charge X, then adding in the new product charge Y using Subscription Amendments: https://knowledgecenter.zuora.com/BC_Subscription_Management/Subscriptions/E_Changing_Subscriptions_...
