In Zuora Release 2022.12.R1 and 2022.11.R4, we announced Deprecation of Bill Run Notification: Posted email notification:
On 13 December 2022, we will deprecate the non-configurable "Bill Run Notification: Posted" email notification setting from production tenants. This change will go live in sandbox tenants on 6 December 2022. After this change, the notification emails will not be sent to the user accounts that are used to create bill runs.
The alternative solution to revive "Bill Run Notification: Posted" notifications is to use custom events. For more information about how to configure Bill Run Posted custom events, see the "Bill Run Posted" section in Custom events. Additionally, you can use the standard events for Bill Run Completion to trigger email notifications.
Question: Is this the Bill run in Completed Status event? If not, what event is it?
Answer: No, it's not the Bill Run Completed notification. The existing standard events Bill Run Completion in Completed status and Error status are still supported. Read more about the standard events in the knowledge center here.
The email notification that will be deprecated on 13 December 2022, is a non-configurable email notification. The user accounts that are used to create the Bill Run will get the notification emails when bill runs are posted. Users can not disable the notification emails.
The email notifications always have the same subject "Bill Run Notification: Posted", and sent from firstname.lastname@example.org. See the attached screenshot.
Question: Why does Zuora want to deprecate this notification?
Answer: The notification "Bill Run Notification: Posted" is a non-configurable email notification. The alternative solutions are available. We want to deprecate it because it has the following disadvantages.
Question: What's the alternative solution?
Zuora offers alternative solutions with much better flexibility and configurability.
