Salesforce is introducing an authentication platform change in the Salesforce Summer '27 Release that impacts all customers using the Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM and Zuora 360 Sync.
To remain compatible with Salesforce, every customer must update their connector authentication to use OAuth Client Credentials, as Salesforce is retiring the authentication method currently used by the connector.
Additionally, customers using Zuora 360 and older versions of the Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM must also upgrade to the latest version supported connector, Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM version (5.24), as only the latest connector version supports the new authentication method.
This post explains what is changing, who is impacted, and the steps you should take to ensure your Salesforce synchronization continues uninterrupted.
What is happening?
Salesforce has announced that it will retire the SOAP login() authentication method beginning with the Salesforce Summer '27 Release. Applications that currently authenticate using SOAP login() will no longer be able to connect after this platform change.
The Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM has been updated to support Salesforce's recommended OAuth Client Credentials authentication model. Customers will need to adopt this new authentication method to maintain connectivity with Salesforce.
What's Changing?
There are two actions customers may need to take depending on the version of the connector they are currently using.
All customers: Update your authentication
Every customer using the Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM or Zuora 360 Sync must update their Salesforce integration to use OAuth Client Credentials prior to the Salesforce Summer '27, expected to release May - July 2027.
This includes:
- Creating a Salesforce External Client App
- Enabling the Client Credentials OAuth flow
- Assigning an integration user
- Configuring the Client ID, Client Secret, and Login URL within the Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM
These changes are required because Salesforce is retiring SOAP login() authentication.

Customers using Zuora 360 or older connector versions: Upgrade your connector
If you're currently using Zuora 360 or an older version of the Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM, you'll also need to migrate to the latest supported connector (version 5.24).
The latest connector is the only version that supports OAuth Client Credentials. Once Salesforce retires SOAP authentication, legacy connector versions-including Zuora 360-will no longer function, and there will not be a supported workaround.

You'll need to complete both the authentication update and migrate to the latest version of Zuora Connector for Salesforce CRM (version 5.24).
