    [Updates in red 5/3/2023]

    Customers currently using Zuora 360 sync will be upgraded in waves to Zuora's latest Salesforce CRM sync by Q2 2023. This will ensure you are on the newest version of the Salesforce connector with the latest capabilities. 

    We will first roll-out the update to sandbox environments. We will post a similar notification once we have upgraded all sandboxes with a production environment rollout plan at least 4 weeks in advance.

    • Rollout Date: Between April 24 and May 12, 2023

    • Environments: NA Sandbox, EU Sandbox, and API Sandbox environments


    How is this better? 

    This upgraded version brings the following improvements for customers on Zuora 360:

    • Performance - offering improved sync latency at a large scale, 5x faster sync speeds for high volumes of data. 

    • Resilience - offering improved sync efficiency and reliability. 

    • Simplicity - enabling faster time to troubleshoot and triage sync errors.

    • Configurability - allowing 360 sync customers the benefit of selecting specific objects for sync within the Zuora UI. 

     

    What is different?

    Please note the following differences to your current 360 sync capabilities:

    1. Optimized for low latency, near real-time sync in predetermined batch sizes using Salesforce SOAP API (no Bulk API support yet) 

    2. Sync reporting: All sync failures that are supported for manual retry will be posted on the 360+ retry failures page. Please make yourself familiar with this page as we will no longer post updates within the Sync History section of Zuora 360. 

    3. Email notifications are currently not supported in the new sync

    4. Object Selection Capability: Select what data you want to sync from the 360+ Object Enablement configuration page. 

    5. Simplified product experience: With this upgrade, changed data in Zuora will be synchronized to your Salesforce org in near real-time. Thus, ability to set scheduled syncs and to configure batch sizes & batch modes will be deprecated.

    How does this impact you?

    Customers will not experience any impact during the upgrade processes and will not need to do anything on their end. All the objects synced in 360 will be migrated to the new version.

    Hi Girish,

    After your sandbox is upgraded you will be able to see your objects on the 360+ Object Enablement page and all sync failures that are supported for manual retry on the 360+ Sync Failure List page under commerce settings. Since it will not be feasible for us to inform each customer/tenant, we will post a similar notification here once the deployment in sandboxes is complete.

    In addition to my previous response, you will also see the following sections of the UI on the "Zuora for Salesforce - 360 Sync" page deprecated/hidden when your tenant gets upgraded to the new sync:

    • Recurring Sync
    • Advanced Sync Settings 
    • Sync History

    some questions :

    1 - After the update, Zuora 360 sync will be permanently disabled and only Zuora 360+ will be used for sync?

    2 - When upgrading in the PRODUCTION environment, will all items listed on the "360+ Object Enablement" page (Objects: Zuora Connector for Salesforce 360(+) and Objects: Zuora Quotes ) be selected? or just objects: Zuora Connector for Salesforce 360( + ) ?

    Hi Marco,

    Please see my response below:

    Question: After the update, Zuora 360 sync will be permanently disabled and only Zuora 360+ will be used for sync?
    Answer: That is correct. As a part of the update, we will disable 360 Sync and power on the new version which has a new back-end/architecture but leverages the 360+ user experience.

    Question: When upgrading in the PRODUCTION environment, will all items listed on the "360+ Object Enablement" page (Objects: Zuora Connector for Salesforce 360(+) and Objects: Zuora Quotes ) be selected? or just objects: Zuora Connector for Salesforce 360( + ) ?
    Answer: After your tenant has been upgraded (sandbox or production), you will see all your relevant objects from both sections auto selected/checked on this page.

    Hi. I hadn't realised until this last post that this change will move us from 360 sync to 360+. 
    We've never used 360+ (or even looked at it). 
    Will all the settings/config be transferred over, or do we have to take time to learn about and configure 360+ ?

    Hi Fiona, 

    All your settings/configs will be transferred over as a part of the upgrade. After your tenant is upgraded, your data will begin syncing immediately via the new sync pipeline with no downtime and/or uptake required from you. Please familiarize yourself with the 360+ Object Enablement and 360+ sync failure retry experience; here it is described in detail on our knowledge center page which may help answer any other questions you may have.

    Hello,

    Will real-time sync be required with 360+ or will will we have the ability to set the time frequency of the sync job as with 360? For example, currently our sync is set to run every 2 hours and require to set this same cadence with 360+ to not impact business processes that require this delay in syncing of the Account & related objects by design.     Thanks for your question and insight into your use cases. The new version simplifies the sync experience to synchronize your data in near real time, and so, the ability to set sync schedules is not supported. We are, however, constantly evaluating customer feedback to evolve the direction of our product so that we meet and exceed customer expectations, so thank you for sharing that feedback.

    Hello,

    We have tried to enable 360+ in the past but we faced two issues back then, I'd like to know if those are resolved now:

    1. Product features were not supported by 360+. Will they get synced now?
    2. At some point real time sync just stopped working in production. I believe it might have been caused by the amount of enqueued errors, but we were forced to go back to 360 as our operations cannot work without the sync. If something like that should happen with this new sync, will there be any workaround/possibility to rollback to 360 so that operations are not impacted?

    How long are you planning to have this available in sandbox before rolling it out to production environment?

    Hi Estafania,

    Both ProductFeature and SubscriptionProductFeatureobjects will be supported in the latest sync. To answer your other question, we will be monitoring each tenant and resolving issues proactively as we deploy the changes. You can also log a ticket with Zuora support as you do today if you encounter any issues. In some cases where there may be a business impact or time sensitivity, we may consider a temporary rollback to z360 until the issues are resolved.
