Today, in order to process an update amendment before an existing update amendment, you have to use the specificUpdateDate option, where all the updates trigger on the same specific date.

Yes, we now have ability to suspend and subsequently resume a subscription. Though it seems like you need to set the resume date to be the same as the suspend date when customer actually pays. If so, that's not supported yet. Today, the resume date needs to be at least one day after the suspend date.

If you did a cancellation amendment and don't do another amendment after that, you should be able to delete the cancellation amendment and that would be as if the cancellation never happended. Am I missing something here?

We are going to release this in Limited Availability in around Mar, 2017, though there's a big limitation where once you turn on this feature, you can only go to Zuora for Salesforce to manage/create subscriptions (or you can use APIs to do it) You can't do that with the Core UI.
GA is going to be middle of 2017 where the UI limitation will go away.
