Finding Better Solutions with Fewer Emails To reduce the amount of Community email in all of our inboxes, our Customer Solutions Articles (Zuora FAQs) will be contained in one post, not two as before.   In the past, our teams have posted the articles in two parts: original post and reply - where the reply is marked as an accepted solution. If you’re subscribed to a discussion forum, this posting process created 2 email notifications. We’ve streamlined this process such that both the problem statement and the solution will be in one email.   How can I find questions that have been solved? You can search for solutions in the Community in two ways:  Within each discussion forum, select the Accepted Solutions tab (learn more) From your search results, select the label, “Customer Solutions Article”   What is a Customer Solutions Article? Oftentimes our experts at Zuora answer a customer question in a support ticket that they think other users could benefit from, but since those solutions are privvy only to those in the ticket.  Thus, it makes sense for our teams to generalize solutions and share them with the Zuora Community so that others can benefit from it.  Two New Community Search Features   Bookmark Searches A star-shaped icon allows you to save complex searches.  You can save up to 20 bookmarks. EXAMPLE:  Perform a search on the Community homepage for “maintenance” .  In the right-hand corner of the search results, you’ll see a star icon. Click on the star. Enter a name you’d like save for the bookmark (e.g. “maintenance”) and press “save”. You’ll now see a new icon next to the star icon. This is where you’ll access and manage of your saved bookmarks.   Sticky Filters: Run Multiple Searches Without Resetting Filters Before this update, we had to reset the side filters each time we searched the Community.  Now, sticky filters will help refine your search to help you find your solutions faster.    EXAMPLE:  Suppose you want to search for various terms within the Release Notifications (e.g. maintenance, sandbox, production).  From the “maintenance” search results, filter source results by blog. “Blog” will now be sticky in all of your subsequent searches until you reset your search by either clicking on “X” or clearing the filters. Search across all blogs again for “sandbox” by entering “sandbox” in the search bar - “Blog” source stays the same because it is sticky. Now let’s search for all blog announcements with “sandbox” in the past month by clicking on “Past Month” in the “Created Date” filter on the left-hand side. You’ll see that both “Blog” and “Past Month” have remained. Perform the same search (“Blog” and “Past Month”) for “production”. You’ll notice that both filters for “Blog” and “Past Month” remain. From Khoros (platform on which our Community is built):   QUESTION What is the "Request Entity Too Large" error that I get some times? How can I fix this error?     ANSWER A "Request Entity Too Large" error typically occurs when the combined size of cookies attempting to be passed to the community during normal communications is over the limit of the default Apache header size.     Common Causes This is most often experienced in an SSO environment, or when someone is constantly refreshing a thread an abnormal amount of times per day (such as moderators who are attempting to keep up with extremely active threads), or constant repeated navigation for stress testing in a browser (constantly going back/forward, visiting a large amount of threads in a very small space of time, etc). Most end users do not experience this issue in communities.     Diagnosing the "Request Entity Too Large" error: Cookies of an abnormally significant size (usually in the tens of megabytes) are the most common culprit of the error message. You can choose to delete the cookie individually, or you can use the standard method to delete temporary internet files and all cookies for a given time frame.      Preventing the Error Once you have identified the large cookies you will want to meet with your development teams to find out how the cookie is generated and why it's being passed to the community. As mentioned before, this is typically related to SSO environments passing cookies that over time become very large in size, so it may be worthwhile to consider optimizing performance in order to prevent cookies from getting too large. ... Zuora Community Chapters are groups led and hosted by Zuora users...just like you! While the Community is a great place to post questions and receive solutions, nothing beats being able to connect with others face-to-face or in real-time.   Interested in   leading   a Zuora Community Chapter?   Group Requirements Organizers must be members of the Zuora Community Must meet at a regular cadence and   at least   once per quarter Types: Role-based (Zuora Admin, Developers) Local: meets onsite at a physical location Virtual: meets online via Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc. The chapter organizer is responsible for its location, format, topics, etc. with guidance from the Zuora Community Manager Application Process Request to be a Chapter leader by filling out   this application form. Once completed, the Community Manager will email you to arrange a videoconference interview via Zoom. If your application and video interview are successful, the Community Manager will notify and begin working with you to create your group. At Subscribed San Francisco, we introduced Zuora Labs , an area for developers to get an early look at the latest Zuora platform features.   With Zuora Labs, developers can extend the current Zuora data model using the Custom Objects UI and API.  Developers can create their own Workflows to call external APIs, use Events to capture customer and system changes, and Notifications to trigger emails or callouts. Other early features only for Zuora Labs is Data Query to perform real-time queries using SQL and Settings API to manage tenant settings.   Is your interest piqued?  Sign up at labs.zuora.com to provision your account. There's no doubt that there have been several requests for Zuora user groups and I'm happy to announce the launch of the Zuora Community Chapter Program.   Why Zuora Community Chapters? When one thinks of it, a Zuora user group is a sub-community of the Zuora Community as a whole, so it makes sense to create different Zuora Community Chapters.   Within this group alone, there've been requests for user groups in  Western Canada - @billdavis  New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania areas - @marcielaux  New England - @rjohnson  Minneapolis - @aejones39  Denver - @mschmitt1  Dallas Fort Worth - @nikkisanchez  Boston - @justdonlon  I've also spoken to a few users who are interested in creating groups in the Santa Barbara ( @PML ), Los Angeles/San Diego ( @geraldwsoto ), and role-based (admin) groups ( @robertorubio ).   What does this mean? This means that Zuora Community users who would like to lead a Community Chapter, will work with me to launch one in their area. I'll personally work with the leaders to set-up, launch, promote and advise them as they run their Chapters which can be local, virtual or both.   Why would I want to be a Chapter Leader? Other than working with yours truly  (ha!) you'll have opportunities to connect with many other Zuora users who share your interests, specialties, etc. as well as share your expertise with them.  Chapter Leaders will also have their own Community group where they can discuss group ideas, topics and more.   What if I'm relatively a New Zuora User?  Even if you're new to Zuora and have a talent for getting people together to discuss, collaborate and learn, you might make a great Chapter Leader.   I'm interested.  What are the next steps? As the Zuora Community Manager, I’m here to help facilitate Community conversations online, but also understand that nothing trumps offline face-to-face, real-time conversations like those recently had in the Learners’ Lounge and Unconference at Subscribed San Francisco.   To help our customers improve their use and experience of Zuora to solve real business problems, I’m excited to announce the launch of Zuora Community Chapters that will be led and driven by Zuora users like yourself. To ensure that these groups maintain a high-quality standard, I will personally work with all user group organizers to help them successfully build up their groups.   Group Requirements Organizers must be members of the Zuora Community Must meet at a regular cadence and at least once per quarter Types: Role-based (Zuora Admin, Developers) Local: meets onsite at a physical location Virtual: meets online via Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc. The chapter organizer is responsible for its location, format, topics, etc. with guidance from the Zuora Community Manager Application Process Request to be a Chapter leader by filling out this application form. Once completed, the Community Manager will email you to arrange a videoconference interview via Zoom. If your application and video interview are successful, the Community Manager will notify and begin working with you to create your group.   As a Zuora administrator, you are tasked with configuring and managing settings for Zuora Platform, Billing, Payments, and Finance. These tasks include, but are not limited to, creating new user roles, setting security policies, adding new revenue recognition codes, setting up notifications, setting up hosted payment pages, and managing revenue recognition rules.   If you are the only Zuora administrator in your company, being a team of one can be challenging since you don’t have anyone else to toss ideas around with. For that reason, I’m pleased to announce the new Zuora Admin Community group where you can connect with other Zuora Admins to ask questions, share best practices and share your experiences.
