Why can't we change the Start Date on a Renewal Quote?

It is not possible to edit the start date on a renewal quote. Unfortunately, this is by design. To work around this, you can create two quotes. One for the renewal and one for the add/remove products if you want to activate the add/remove amendment on another date. It is also possible that you may have customizations that are defaulting the value of the start date. This can be altered depending on use case basis.

 

Furthermore, for Renewal amendments, Contract Effective Date value does not matter. Its only purpose is to activate the amendment. That's why we give it a default value (same as the Renewal Date) and lock it down during the quote creation. The exact reason for the lockdown is to avoid the error, "The Contract effective date should not be later than the term end date of the basic subscription". For Renewal Quote, there is no reason to change the default quote's Start Date.
