Quote Metrics calculation issue - Subtotal

Question or Problem Statement:
Can you please help us understand how the Quote Metrics was calculated?

For example, we have an annual charge 3333.50 * 3 = 10000.5 in the quote, the expected Subtotal is 10000.5, however Subtotal right now is 10,027.82, where is the 27.32$ from?

Re: Quote Metrics calculation issue - Subtotal

Solution:
The best practise to understand how Quote Metrics come out is to refer to your quote to create a draft subscription in your Zuora tenant directly, then preview the subscription, so that you can see the Total and Subtotal. For example, how was 27.32$ calculated?

As per this KC doc:
Sub-total: The quote subtotal for the specified billing periods, excluding discount charges and taxes.
Sub-total = Total - (discount charges + taxes)
https://knowledgecenter.zuora.com/CA_Commerce/C_Zuora_Quotes/D_Working_with_Quotes/F_Quote_Metrics

3333.50 * 3 = 10000.5
Total = 10,027.82
Tax = 0.00
Sub-total = 10,027.82 - 0 = 10,027.82

I assumed that you would like to ask: How was Total calculated as 10,027.82?

Referring to the Existing subscription Id in the quote, we can locate the Zuora subscription, then refer to the quote to amend this subscription, and then preview it. Finally we see: The 27.32 is a Proration.

Q: Why is there a Proration?
A: Looking at the preview, we can see:
The last billing Service Period = 02/28/2019-02/27/2020
The subscription Term End Date = 02/29/2020
So, 02/28/2020 is still in a billing period, 02/28/2020 is supposed to be billed as well, that is why we get additional 27.32.
