Is custom field sync not supported for fields that are specific to Person Accounts?

In a specific scenario, customer created custom field on Salesforce Person Account and added it to the "CustomField Set" on Account and added the custom field in Zuora. Still the customer field did not sync, please find below the details for same in solution.

The custom field was defined in Contact Custom Fields & Relationships in Salesforce, this needed to be defined in Account Custom Fields & Relationships.
