Error: "The Email Template is currently used by Notification"

Problem 

 

The customer reported not being able to delete or deactivate an email template because of the error below :

In order to deactivate the email template you must first remove the notification it is associated with. You can always re-add the notification back after you have successfully deactivated the email template. Here are the steps.

1) Locate the notification : " Invoices past due, account summary" from the Notification screen.
2) Click “REMOVE” to delete the notification.
3) Once the notification is removed you can go and deactivate the template.
