Does anyone use multi-entity?

We are assessing if we should stay as a single tenant or move to multi-entity.  I hoping to get some feedback from users on pros/cons.

We use multi-entity - we currently have over 20 and am happy to answer any questions you have. You can DM me here and I can share my contact information 🙂

Re: Does anyone use multi-entity?

We also use Multi Entity - having 9 in Prod today (but more on Sandbox as more are being introduced) We are also both on US and EU data center and will be moving over ending up with only EU.

There are clear benefits for us to be Multi Entity. There are some downsides but having single entity would not be an option for us. We are a big company with separate Business Units so having all in one hierarchy is good for several reasons:

  • scalable for centralized administration and support (one place/user to access accross all)
  • our integration teams access one tenant but selects entity when connecting
  • our Data Analytics team has one source for retrieving date
  • etc

Some downsides are:

  • as they are really standalone tenants just organized in a hierarchy with a top node, there is no really good administration across entities
  • when creating Workflows we need one user pr entity in terms of connecting for one workflow instead of having one user accessing more entities
  • no reporting across entities on the UI (needs to fetch data from db an use external BI solution which is fine but sometimes having it i UI would be great)
  • etc
