Updated product catalog price doesn't reflect in subscription

Problem: I updated the price for one of my product in the Product Catalog.   When I try to do an "Update Product" amendment, the new pricing is not reflected   Can you tell me why this is happening?

Answer: 

 

The reason why you are not seeing the update is due to the rule of disassociation. After you complete creating a subscription, the products that you added to the subscription disassociates from the same product in the Product Catalog. Any updates in the product catalog will not reflect the products in the subscription.

 

You can test this by creating an amendment-New Product. Add the same product and you will then see the updated pricing change you created in the Product Catalog.

 

Note: There are exceptions to this rule such as when you want to use uplift, but that's a whole different subject.
