Setting up charge/rate plan START date?

Hello,

I am trying the following scenario:

A subscription costs $129 the FIRST quarter (Lump sum paid up front) followed by $99/month. I see that I can set certain charges to end after X months, but how do I set up so the $99/month kicks in first after three months?

Hi @erikvm,

One of the options is to use a Flat-fee discount charge. You can add a $30 discount that lasts for 3 months.

Re: Setting up charge/rate plan START date?

Hi,

I'm not sure if that solves the issue since the $129 up-front payment is different from the $99/month.

I don't understand how a $30 discount helps here.

Thanks

Re: Setting up charge/rate plan START date?

@erikvm,

So one you can do this is up front when you create the subscription.

You'd be adding the same product twice, the key difference is that you'll be making use of the Subscription End Date (to end on a specific date or after the appropriate billing period) as well as Charge Trigger (to start on a specific date for the 2nd charge).

Here's an example using your scenario:
Subscription Start = 09/01/2017

Charge 1 - quarterly, bill for one quarter only

Charge 2 - monthly, starting after the quarterly ends

This is what the invoices would look like for the customer:

Does this sound like it would work for you?
