Can you tell me why this subscription preview is splitting into two invoices?

The reason for the behavior you are seeing is based on the 3 subscription charge's Billing Period Alignment which is set to "Align to Subscription Start".
Because the Billing Period of the original Subscription version started on 11/25, the 3 new charges are being billed from the current term 5/25 through the last day of the Billing period, 11/24. Then it will be billed from the Billing Day of 11/25 through the end of term 5/24, thus the split invoices.
To prevent this from occurring:
1) Delete the draft invoice
2) Use an Update Amendment) to change the 3 subscription charge's Billing Period Alignment to "Align to Charge", instead of "Align to Subscription Start"
3) Re-do the billing for the subscription. You should see the charges align from 05/25/2017-05/24/2018 as expected.
