Ability to send scheduled reports securely

Priority - Severe

Zuora's current solution for delivering scheduled reports is insufficient, from a security perspective. Emailing an unprotected CSV file that contains sensitive customer data not only risks exposure of PII, but also fails the standards of many (most) Information Security policies (including those of our company).

We request that Zuora provide a secure solution to file/report deliveries. Ideally, Zuora would implement one of the following solutions:

  1. Ability to send reports via SFTP to a server
  2. Ability to password protect files that are delivered via email

Our technology team considers the current method to be in violation of standard PII procedures, and would like a solution ASAP.

Thank you,

Barry

There are a set of Reporting APIs that you can use to run and retrieve report results programmatically.

Does that provide you with the means you need of distributing report results?

Thank you for the feedback. This seems to indicate that we would need the help of a develop to send reports securely - is my assumption correct?

If so, I would argue that secure delivery of reports should be an option within the UI and not require dev resources.

We would like to keep this request active.

Thank you,

Hi Barry - are the recipients of the report also Zuora users in this case? In the report scheduling setup, there's also the option to include a link to the report results instead of attaching the result to the email. Users can follow that direct link but will then need to login into Zuora in order to view the result.

 Hi Chris,

The link would definitely work for some reports, but not all; we have reports that will go to non-Zuora users.

Thank you,

Barry
