"File not loaded completely" message while opening the large file downloaded from Zuora using Excel
After downloading a huge file from Zuora, especially from the accounting period, such as AccountsReceivableAgingAccountExport_20181203171106, you may fail to open it using Excel with a pop-up alert - "File not loaded completely".
This is the limitation of Excel, instead of Zuora. The maximum row number that Excel supports is 1,048,576.
If you want to download or export a large CSV file, Zuora officially recommends you to use text editors other than Microsoft Excel to open the file. As we documented below:
One unofficial suggestion for your reference (as this question has out of Zuora support, maybe you have known, or you are able to find a better approach):
-1. Back up .csv file.
-2. Rename .csv with .txt.
-3. Open a terminal window
-4. Run the command to split the .txt file into different smaller files. For example, below command splits the large .txt file into smaller ones with max 1000000 rows:
split -l 1000000 AccountsReceivableAgingAccountExport_20181203171106.txt
-4. Change the newly generated .txt files back to .csv.
-5. Copy the first row from the first file into others.
