Revenue distribution not distributing for past service periods in closed accounting period

I have posted an invoice with service periods that are from 3 years ago, but the revenue is sitting in open ended bucket and not distributed into the accounting periods. Why is the revenue not distributing?

Accounting periods for the service periods must be created and open for the revenue to be distributed into the service period dates. In this specific case, since the revenue schedule service dates are from a couple years back, your revenue would have to be distributed into the most current open accounting period. Zuora's best practice is to not re-open the accounting periods once they are closed. Once you generate the invoice, the revenue will be placed in the open-ended bucket. You can then manually distribute the revenue from the revenue schedule into the current open accounting period, or you can use the mass updater tool to update the revenue schedules to distribute into the accounting periods.
