How to configure your SPF Record

Questions:

How to configure your SPF Record?

Answer:

1.  Publish your SPF record in DNS records of type TXT under your domain name (yourcompanyname.com). The terminology used herein is from a DNS context.

The SPF example to authorize Zuora's email server host:

v=spf1 mx a:zgateway.zuora.com -all

In this example, the only hosts authorized to send emails claiming to be from your domain are Zuora's outbound email servers and the ones listed in your MX records.

This is documented in

https://knowledgecenter.zuora.com/BB_Introducing_Z_Business/How_Do_I_._._./How_do_I_stop_customer_em...

2. If multiple servers have to be added in the SPF record along with Zuora, please add a:zgateway.zuora.com -all ( not include, just a.) instead of include:zgateway.zuora.com. Currently, Zuora does not have a DNS record for *allowing *include - yet.

  • Include is used when adding multiple records set by the external input, for example, include:mail.zendesk.com may contain other multiple includes or different records managed by Zendesk.
  • a is for specifying a single IP, a range or the IPs contained in the DNS resolution. This is:
zgateway.zuora.com.	48	IN	A	64.79.155.192
zgateway.zuora.com. 48 IN A 136.179.50.206
zgateway.zuora.com. 48 IN A 64.79.155.193
zgateway.zuora.com. 48 IN A 207.218.90.122
zgateway.zuora.com. 48 IN A 64.79.155.205
zgateway.zuora.com. 48 IN A 64.79.155.206
