Why do closed payment methods still show up on the process payment page?

Question or Problem Statement:

Customer ran into a situation that the closed payment methods are still showing up in the drop down box in Process payment page.

Also, in New payment run page, there is a rule "Process payments even if the default payment method is closed". What does this mean?

Solution:

This is a new change in release 188(http://knowledgecenter.zuora.com/AA_Whats_New/AA_Zuora_Release_Notes). Since some closed payment methods still can be used for Payments and make Payment transaction successfully so we allow Process payments even if the default payment method is closed.

The payment methods can be set "closed" by Payment Method updater, or set by customers manually.

My customer has the same issue and my question is, how to setup Zuora that closed payment methods are not shown in drop down list? Is there a way that an warning message comes up in case you select a closed payment method as default?
