Re: Why Default Authorisation Amount is always passed as 0 for Adyen gateway?

Performing a Credit Card Validation through Adyen is through the payment gateway's "DynamicZeroValueAuth" capabilities. Thus, the authorisation amount is always passed as 0 to Adyen from Zuora. A 0 value authorisation requests lets the Adyen system to submit a card verification call to the acquirer.

Since not all acquirers and issuers support card verification through zero value auth, Adyen automatically sends and submits a transaction with authorisation amount of 1 if the request is routed to an acquirer or issuer that does not support this feature. Adyen immediately submits an authorisation cancellation if an 1 auth amount is submitted.

If you have further questions regarding the same, please reach out to Adyen Account representative for clarifications on "DynamicZeroValueAuth" function of Adyen.
