How can I cancel and delete a bill run?

Question: I need to cancel and delete a bill run so I can get rid of all the associated invoices that I generated in error. How can I do this?

Re: How can I cancel and delete a bill run?

Response: You will need to make sure all the invoices are in "Draft" status, then cancel the bill run, and then go out to the subscription view and delete the bill run.

These two pages will give more specific instructions on how to accomplish this:

If all the invoices from the particular bill run are posted, you will need to change them back into "Draft" status.

There are two ways to do this:

1) One by one (manually)

  • Go into each invoice
  • More > "Cancel Post"
  • This will put the invoice back into "Draft" Status

2) Via the SOAP update() call (50 records at a time)

  • To get these invoices updated via SOAP API, here is the update call. Please note that you can update 50 invoices at a time and you will need to find the affected invoice IDs (please do a Data Export for the Invoice object to get the invoice IDs).

<ns1:update>
  <ns1:zObjects xsi:type="ns2:Invoice">
    <ns2:Id></ns2:Id>
    <ns2:Status>Draft</ns2:Status>
  </ns1:zObjects>
  <ns1:zObjects xsi:type="ns2:Invoice">
    <ns2:Id></ns2:Id>
    <ns2:Status>Draft</ns2:Status>
  </ns1:zObjects>
  <ns1:zObjects xsi:type="ns2:Invoice">
    <ns2:Id></ns2:Id>
    <ns2:Status>Draft</ns2:Status>
  </ns1:zObjects>
  <ns1:zObjects xsi:type="ns2:Invoice">
    <ns2:Id></ns2:Id>
    <ns2:Status>Draft</ns2:Status>
  </ns1:zObjects>
  <ns1:zObjects xsi:type="ns2:Invoice">
    <ns2:Id></ns2:Id>
    <ns2:Status>Draft</ns2:Status>
  </ns1:zObjects>
</ns1:update>
