Re: Customer's Credit Card not accepted - "Invalid Account Number"

When you receive this particular error message when entering a credit card number, it is not a valid credit card number.

There are methods of verifying the validity of any credit card number online using a "Mod 10" check which is a simple checksum formula used to validate a variety of identification numbers like credit cards.

Additionally, using an online BIN Range Check (BIN = Bank identification number, first 6 digits of a credit card), you can verify the origin and bank from where the card was issued. So if your customer is based out of Texas and the Bin Range Check shows the card is from the UK, that card is either fraudulent or entered incorrectly.

Please reverify the card number with your customer to ensure that it is 100% accurate. One digit off or transposed is usually the issue.
