$0 invoice generated when attempting to bill for overage with negative price amount

Question or Problem Statement:

When I created a subscription and ran the bill run the invoice was $0.00. I manually pushed one claim associated to this subscription.
Is it because I checked the box “Invoice the subscription separately”, or is it because the charge type is a Claim Overage (usage)?
Also please note that the price is a negative amount.

Re: $0 invoice generated when attempting to bill for overage with negative price amount

Solution:

Negative price for Overage charge model is not supported by current design.  Additionally, quantity for usage must be a valid decimal amount equal to or greater than 0.  If you find the need to generate a negative invoice based on usage, you may consider adding a rate plan charge where:

  • Type = Usage
  • Model = Per Unit Pricing

Per Unit Pricing does support negative charges and will produce an invoice per expectations.
