Daily Reporting for Payments

I am trying to build a daily report of my payment run that would break down Total Payments made nightly. I would like to break it down to have Number of Successful Payments, Number of Failed payment and take the failed payments further to be have the number of first time failed payments and number of payments retried. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Re: Daily Reporting for Payments

For your particular request, due to filtering restrictions you will need to create 3 separate reports which you can schedule daily. We have an out of box report called "First time payment success trend" that can take care of your request with a few filtering changes:

Report 1:
Total Payment made nightly, Number of Successful Payments, Number of Failed payments:

Using the "First time payment success trend" report, edit as follows:

1) Remove the filter: Payment Method Snapshot: Number of Consecutive Failures
2) Change the filter: Payment: Effective Date IS EQUAL TO Yesterday

You cannot filter by payment run number, but since you are running the report nightly, this will still work.

Here is how the report would look like:

Make sure to SAVE your new report, then you can schedule it nightly.

Report 2:
Number of first time failed payments:

Using the "First time payment success trend" report, edit as follows:

1) Change the filter: Payment: Effective Date IS EQUAL TO Yesterday
2) Add filter: Payment: Status IS NOT EQUAL TO Processed

The combination of these filter will report only first time failed payments.

Here is how the report would look like:

Make sure to SAVE your new report, then you can schedule it nightly.

Report 3:
Number of payments retried

Using the "First time payment success trend" report, edit as follows:

1) Change the filter: Payment: Effective Date IS EQUAL TO Yesterday
2) Change the filter: Payment Method Snapshot: Number of Consecutive Failures IS GREATER THAN 0

Because you are filtering for payments that have at least 1 failure, these would count as retries. The results will give you both success and error/failed retries.

Here is how the report would look like:

Make sure to SAVE your new report, then you can schedule it nightly.
