This past August, we explored the latest innovations coming out over the next six months and beyond. Our product team discussed the latest developments in Zuora Platform, Billing/CPQ, Payments, Revenue, and Zephr. Below are some of the Q&A highlights from the session which you can access here.
Q&A Highlights
- Which features introduced today are included in the normal license of Zuora Billing and which are paid add-ons?
Features concerning consumption are being included in Advanced Consumption Billing, which is a paid-for add-on module.
- Are there any initial estimates for SAP connector?
We are aiming for Feb 2025.
- Is dynamic pricing supported in Zuora CPQ?
Yes we will support dynamic pricing in CPQ.
- How is Zuora Extension Studio different from workflows?
Extension Studio provides a broad range of capabilities supporting your different use cases. These include workflow for complex processes, tables for simple data amendments, rules/trees linking together more advanced multi-step customizations, and functions if you want to develop more sophisticated scenarios.
- Does Zuora have the ability to help with forecasting activities especially around consumption/usage based pricing models? This can oftentimes be a huge headache for finance teams especially those new to usage based pricing models.
This is one of the main uses of the brand new Consumption Insights that we're releasing to Beta in Q3. If you're interested, I would encourage you to join our Beta program.
- Any news on real-time account updater?
Yes, that is part of this upleveling campaign. We intend to support RTAUs for our more prominent integrations where those gateways support them.
- What is the launch date for NetSuite to RevPro integration?
It’s available today!
- If our pricing rules from legacy pricing systems have to be migrated/transitioned to the new Dynamic and Attribute based Pricing setup, is that scenario supported?
Pricing rules includes an API and support rule migration.
- Can the usage/consumption based billing work with external pricing when the pricing is outside of Zuora billing, i.e. when it is setup in another application?
It is designed, right now, to work only with Zuora Usage / Advanced Consumption Billing capabilities. It assumes you do all your pricing, billing, usage inside of Zuora.
- The surcharge option for cards etc is not allowed in the UK?
This is an optional feature and we know not everyone will be able to pass through those surcharges but we are providing support for customers who can.
- Is Zuora billing revenue recognition going to be deprecated for existing users?
We are looking at ways to migrate folks off of historical Z-finance capabilities onto our Zuora revenue product - more to come there.
- In order to use Zuora as an AR subledger, do you have to have Zuora Revenue?
Users do not need to have Zuora Revenue. The enhancement will be applicable as long as you are a Zuora Billing customer
- Does CoPilot adhere to user roles and permissions?
Yes, it allows users to have particular permissions to use it. The permissions will vary by use case, but the spirit of it is that it honors the same permissions a user already has.
- Is early access for AI paywall offered as-is today?
Yes, and we have a few Zephr customers already using the AI paywall in EA. If you'd like to use AI paywall in Early Access, please contact your account manager.
- How flexible is CoPilot? Can admins edit what end-users can see and what actions they can use from there?
One of the design principles with our Copilot is a conversational experience. We are working to train Copilot to clarify with users before it attempts to answer or perform tasks. Right now, we're adding use cases intentionally, but we do aim to make it flexible in the use cases we support.
- Is the Revenue waterfall report with historical data planned in the road map?
There is a historical Waterfall that is available. Learn more about it here.
